Section 7: World Mountain Village Community to Dragon Trail

Elaeocarpus is an endemic species in Taiwan, growing in humid mountainous environments and on mountain ridges. Red leaves are a signature in its lifecycle (they turn red when aging). Featuring grid patterns on the surface, its fruit can be used as Buddhist beads. These represent the stories and marks we leave in our lives. Elaeocarpus stands tall against adversity, and leaves a deep footprint on the Taipei Grand Trail.
